Sudoku Grab App Reviews

For years this was my favorite Sudoku app. The recent update is most unpleasant. Aspects of the app appear to be broken, the graphics are degraded, and its just not easy to play. I urge the developers to revert back to the previous version, which I could happily rate at five stars.

Would have given a 5 before the update. I cant even use the app anymore. Before the update I would get the paper every morning, take a picture of the puzzle and worked them. Over 1700 puzzles, 4.5 years gone. Not that I care about losing the puzzles but am going to have to change my morning ritual. Please fix this so I can use it again. I have deleted off my phone since it kept locking up!!!

After the May update, it crashes every time I launch it. Tried deleting/reinstalling to no avail. Please bring back the previous version--it worked perfectly for years!

How was Vsn 2.0 even approved?? Crashes immediately upon launch.

This is my third review since the infamous update... I wonder if the original beta version of the app was accidentally released? Anyway, near as I can tell, this update fixes the problem if knowing the color of the pencil marks and thats it. Still no deleting of solved puzzles, no locking on a number, no grating out of completing numbers. Still a long way to go to make it what it was.

Finally had a chance to slow down long enough to play a game, and now the game will not launch. I have tried quitting the app, restarting the iPhone, and have even deleted and reinstalled the application but it still will not launch. Obviously I am not the only one with a problem. Sent the message above a couple days ago, but it is still here, so may be bugs in Apples Feedback system. Updated to the new version of this app today, and it still continues to crash on launch.

The last release slowed down the process of photographing a puzzle. This release has killed it. My 4s displays a black screen and freezes when I try to take a picture. Not much point to the app without a way to import puzzles!

I dont know what you guys did, but you ruined a perfectly good, and actually quite wonderful, interface. It is now spectacularly awful. Can you bring back the old build?

The app was gestalt until they tried to fix what wasnt broken. Immediately after the update, the app would launch and I could pull up the camera function but it would not take a picture. I got the camera to work once or twice but Now I cant even open the camera function. Indeed, none of the functions on the first page will operate so it just sits there. Please fix it.

The old app functioned perfectly. With the new update there is a loading delay, it wiped out the best score history, numbers no longer gray out when completed, and the difficulty stars are always one when you complete a puzzle no matter what level puzzle you choose. I do find the hover and capture feature interesting and it seems to be faster than taking the picture and then mapping.

This was the best I had. It was attractive, the capture was great, it worked well, it kept track of games played, it was a constant joy to use. Then I updated. Now, on my iPhone 5S with over 10 Gb available, it comes up for about 0.7 seconds and then crashes. On my iPad Air it works, but looks much less pleasing. It doesnt seem to let you try a new puzzle, just rework what you had. Please revert to the great earlier version!!

Why did you remove the feature to solve sudoku in live view? I really liked the feature to quickly check if I am on the right track with a sudoku in the newspaper. Get us live view feature back.

After a disasterous update a few weeks ago, many of the bugs are gone. The puzzle grid is square, and the number keys are reasonably sized again. One feature is still lost: when youve completed a number, the key remains enabled. It used to disable and grey-out numbers when they were all filled in. This was a handy visual aid. I also wish there was some way to "light up" all the instances of a particular number. Thats a feature thats available in a lot of other sudoku apps.

Youll have many ways of entering puzzles. Use a screenshot of an online puzzle, or a take a photograph from a paper or magazine.

This used to be my favorite sudoku, but after the update it doesnt capture, it is so slow I get tired of waiting, and it wont do anything. Im so disappointed!

I used to love this app - I could see a puzzle & take it with me - now it takes forever just to bring the camera or a puzzle up. When it works its good but its freezing all of the time. And my grabbed puzzles all have empty boxes.

So unhappy since the last update. Used to show wrong answers in red. Now it doesnt, so it becomes really difficult and tedious to figure out the wrong answer when you realize the puzzle isnt working out. Also miss the feature that grayed out a number when you had used it nine times. Im ready to get another sudoku game over this last update.

Suduko grab does not work at all on my iPhone 5

Not sure what happened one day it was working fine. The auto scan and read feature was very cool. Then one day nothing nada zilch zippo dead on arrival. I cant even reload it. Bummer major bummer.
